BenAbbaZeyde Programs 

For Our Sake, As Men...MRJ Sponsors the BenAbbaZeyde Project   

MRJ’s innovative BenAbbaZeyde programs speak to our members as fathers, sons, spouses, friends, and especially, as brothers. Our goal is to increase our ranks with men infused with a new sense of fellowship, a stronger confidence as Reform Jews, and a renewed commitment to perform mitzvot for their temple and their community. Current BenAbbaZeyde programs include:

• MRJ’s Men and Shabbat  module, which details men's roles in this weekly celebration. Rabbi Victor Appel, author of this module, stresses the importance of men's role in the Shabbat experience;   
• MRJ Men and Observance Series, a collection of innovative, adult education modules designed specifically for men to increase their familiarity with Shabbat, the High Holidays, and Passover; 
• MRJ Men and Passover - Analyzes the rituals and observance of the Passover Seder, the abstention from bread products, and the ethical issues concerning slavery and freedom;

The MRJ Men’s Seder™, a project of the Men of Reform Judaism (MRJ) that uses the traditional structure of the Passover Seder to give men of all ages an opportunity to come together to explore and celebrate what it means to be a contemporary Jewish man.
